Preparing Internet Explorer to run courses

In order to run courses using Knowledge Point in Internet Explorer, there are several browser security settings that must be checked.

If you receive an error message when you try to run a course, or if a course does not appear correctly, please check through the following steps to ensure that Internet Explorer has been properly configured.

Installation of the Flash 7.0 plug-in

Courses require the Adobe Flash plug-in to run successfully.

If you receive an error message saying that the Flash plug-in is not installed visit the Adobe web site to install the latest Flash player:

Enabling the Atlantic Link Signed ActiveX Control

Atlantic Link have developed a signed ActiveX control to allow advanced keyboard interaction to take place for systems training courses.  This plug-in has been signed with a digital certificate, which certifies the validity of the code.

Note: The installation of the ActiveX control can be disabled on the e-learning server if required.

To allow the Atlantic Link ActiveX control to be installed, follow the following steps:

  1. Open Internet Explorer.
